Happy birthday!

Happy 50th birthday to my Dad yesterday!

He had a great time, I should hope so! Now that's he is getting on a bit, we are having to repeat everything we say. There will be no mumbling in this household anymore!

In all matter of seriousness, we had a good time. I booked myself off from work to spend the day with him. 50? That's a serious birthday, I mean CONGRATULATIONS FOR MAKING IT THAT FAR! I never take my birthday off since the last two years, only because I haven't actually found a good enough reason to celebrate it yet? I am only 23! And that's not reason to celebrate, unlike turning 50?
But yes, I did make sure I had my 18th and my 21st off from work. Because those are big BIRTHDAYS... Once you turn 18, you can legally drink in Britain... Once you turn 21, you can legally drink, pretty much EVERYWHERE. So all the more reason to have those birthdays off and to not remember those birthdays. Because I know for a fact, I can't remember mines... Or any other time when I drink alcohol... Hmm.

For his birthday, we did a shopping session in town, for my dad who needed some smart clothes for his surprise but not so much of a surprise birthday party he is going to have tomorrow (Saturday). And I have come to conclusion that One direction, that boy band who sings some songs are literally everywhere! Me and my sister was looking through the posters in HMV, before it sadly close in our "half way there" Ghost town, and at least every two to three slides we flick through, there was a picture of them! Is that a sign? "Claire, you must buy our Comic relief single in order for us to disappear!" I think that's what my conscience is telling me.. (Love the song! But prefer the Blondie version). We all then went out for a traditional birthday meal. That's how we celebrate our birthdays in this family. We are all so embarrassed by our company that we try and do it five times a year on each of our birthdays.
And generally because of this.. My sister would get incredibly shy and not talk to the waiter. My brother and I would scan the room and play smash and dash. (never heard of it?? I never did, until last night...)
Dad would play on his Iphone and show us random jokes/ videos he finds.
Mum just moans or tries to get us to act "normal" (we don't know the meaning of that word...)

And finally on to today! Because I got a new tattoo!! W00!!! Tattoo number two has made it presence! And after I got my Harry Potter themed tattoo, I had always said I wouldn't get anymore.. (Yes, I have the Deathly Hallows tattooed on my ankle!). But then I just thought, I should be one of those people that would get tattoos of her favourite books/fairy tales. Because that pretty much defines me in a small percentage. "The girl who lives far too much in her own  world or worlds that are created through stories."
So the tattoo I got today, is based around Beauty and the Beast. It is one of my favourite fairy tales only. I can relate to that fairy tale because I feel that everyone has a beauty side and a beast side to them. Such as, the beast was a horrid vain creature until he fell in love with Belle and started to show his beauty through his love towards her. Belle beauty was the kindness she had when she substitute herself as a prisoner, instead of her father and the compassion she had shown towards the beast. I did feel her beasty side to her was the repulsion she felt towards the beast and how she couldn't love him at first.
My beauty side the compassion and caring I have towards to other beings... Whereas my beast side is that I am impatient with myself and when I want something to work I want it to work right away, without the working towards it.

,
So, tell me your views on most fairy tales and what you think of them? Or just say, if you don't agree on my view of Beauty and the beast and which Beauty and the Beast film you prefer best? I actually prefer the 1950's Jean Cocteau version to the Disney version!
Yes, please let me know on what you think of the tattoo. Comments are welcome... (In other words... PLEASE COMMENT ON MY BLOG.) :D
Ciao!
